Creating a Free Registration

How to create a free registration in Admittee: pick a registration kind, set the availability window and capacity, add zero-priced registration types, rely on the built-in waitlist, and publish.

A free registration is a sign-up where every registration type is priced at zero. Attendees enter their details and reserve a spot without paying. You build it from the registrations dashboard, set capacity and an availability window, and publish when it is ready.

Create the registration

  1. From the registrations dashboard, start a new registration.
  2. Choose a registration kind:
    • Standard registration — a camp, workshop, conference, or activity with specific dates and a location.
    • Season registration — ongoing participation over a longer span of time, defined by a registration window rather than fixed session dates.
  3. Enter a title and pick a category, then continue to the details page to finish setup.

Set the details

In the registration details editor, fill out the core fields:

  • Registration window — set when registration Opens and Closes. An open date is required before you can publish; the close date is optional.
  • Dates and sessions — for a standard registration, add the event date(s) and times. Attendance is tracked per session. Season registrations skip this and run off the window instead.
  • Who can register — optionally restrict by a minimum and maximum grade.
  • Registration types — add at least one type. To make the registration free, leave the price at 0. You can set a per-type capacity here as well.

Capacity and waitlist

Set the overall Capacity for the registration. This is the maximum number of registrations across all types and must be greater than 0.

A waitlist is built in. When the registration is full, new registrants join the waitlist instead of being turned away. If a spot opens, people on the waitlist are notified automatically, each gets an offer valid for a set window (8 hours by default), and the spot goes to whoever claims it first. Anyone who lets the window lapse is passed over.

Add a custom form (optional)

You can attach a custom field form to collect extra information at sign-up. If you publish without a form, or with an empty one, you will see a confirmation prompt first.

Publish

When the registration has a title, at least one registration type, a capacity above 0, and an open date, you can publish it. Once published, the Publish button becomes Share so you can distribute the link.

What attendees see

On the public page, attendees pick a registration type and enter their name and email to reserve a spot at no charge. When the registration is full, the page shows a waitlist form instead, and anyone who later receives an offer link can claim the opened spot before it expires.
