Accessing the Event Day App

The EventDay App is a free app for phones and tablets that your staff use to scan tickets and collect payments at the gate. To use it, download the app, then either sign in with your Admittee login or open the event's staff access link. You can share that link with gate workers so they can help without needing their own Admittee accounts.

What is the EventDay App?

The EventDay App is Admittee's on-site companion app. Your team uses it on event day to scan tickets and passes at the gate and to take payments, including selling concessions. It runs on both Apple and Android phones and tablets, so most staff can use a device they already have.

How do you download the app?

1. On an iPhone or iPad, install the app from the App Store.
2. On an Android phone or tablet, install it from Google Play.

The fastest way to get the download link to your team is the access window described below, which includes a store link and a QR (quick response) code that opens the listing directly.

How does staff open and sign in?

There are two ways for someone to get into the app:

1. Sign in with an Admittee account. On the app's welcome screen, enter your username (or email) and password. This is best for staff who already manage events in Admittee.
2. Enter an access code. If someone does not have a login, they can switch to the code option on the welcome screen and enter your institution's short access code to connect to the right account.

Once signed in, staff pick the event they are working and the app is ready to scan and take payments.

How do you share access with gate workers?

You do not need to create an account for every volunteer. Each event has a private staff access link that opens the app pointed straight at that event.

1. In your dashboard, open the event you are staffing. The event must be published.
2. On the event page, select Event day App in the top bar (on a phone this appears as a QR-scan icon). A Scan & collect window opens with three steps: Download the EventDay App, Open or share the access link, and Scan tickets & accept payments.
3. Choose Copy EventDay link (staff) to copy the access link and send it to your workers, or select the QR code button so they can scan it with their phone to launch the app directly.

Anyone who has the link can scan tickets and take payments for that event, so share it only with your gate staff. If someone opens the link on a device that does not have the app yet, they are taken to the store to install it first.
